HUB Testimonials
We love HUB Virtual School, but what we love even more is hearing how much our HUB Families love it too!
“The HUB is a remarkable school. It is a place where kids are free to focus on learning and where the teachers are passionate and committed. Each student who comes to the HUB brings their own unique story and background, and each is allowed to flourish in their own space and in their own way. The HUB is a public school, with the Alberta curriculum, set class times, instruction from great teachers and interaction with supportive classmates; it is a place ideally suited for kids and families who want to approach school in a safe, welcoming and different way.”

HUB Testimonial:
“When the HUB initially made its place during COVID, I knew then that we had found the school my daughter would stay in. With a lot of push back from friends and family, I pushed back and enrolled our daughter at the Hub while she was in middle school. Everyone assumes there is no social interaction, but there is, this school runs in real time! I didn't know then that she would be one of the first students to ever graduate from this amazing institution. Finally...I didn't have to fight to get her to go to school, she wasn't constantly calling me because she didn't feel good and wanted to come home. Instead, she got up every morning, logged on to her home room class and did the work! End result, this is how she learned best, she was comfortable in this environment, she became familiar and started to interact with her classmates and teachers, she thrived, she felt included and most importantly had only nice things to say about her teachers, all of which are amazing and huge victories for our family. This school cares about our kids and there is far more accountability with attendance and interaction with teachers/parents. If you want to be in a school that is free of judgment and allows your child to attend without prejudice or anxiety, The HUB Virtual School will help your child succeed!”

“We weren’t sure quite what to think when we made the switch to the Hub this year. To say it has been amazing is an understatement! I have a child who went from poor attendance in a typical school setting, to excited to go to school every single day. He is engaged and truly loves all his subjects. The teachers are all subject matter experts and their passion is clearly contagious. The communication between the faculty and our family is also above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. What started out as a “let’s try it out just for this year” has turned into “I’m staying at the Hub all the way through grade 12!” Words cannot express what it is like to see your child not only enjoy going to school but to be flourishing. These kids get to have the best teachers and experience learning in their own, ideal environments. We are so lucky not only to have the Hub in our community but in our province.”

"Living through 2020 and 2021 as a teenager has been very challenging for many but has also brought several unexpected experiences and friendships. As of last year, I was in French immersion at Crescent Heights and I would have never guessed that my life would change so much over the course of a year. I am beyond grateful for the amazing opportunities that online schooling has given my peers and I. This year, I had the opportunity to live on Vancouver Island for six months. It was truly an amazing experience and as a result of that, I got to play club volleyball with Mariners Volleyball Club and work with different coaches. By training in different ways and spending more time outside, my performance in volleyball improved drastically. This year has been a year that we’ve had to try new ways of doing things and the teachers at the Hub have done a tremendous job at that. I had been warned about the challenges of transferring to all English learning after having all previous schooling in French, but the teachers here made it a seamless transition. In summary, while this year has been a difficult one for countless, it was made better for me through new opportunities."

"This year has been the best year of school that I have ever had. 2020/2021 could have gone either way, but because of the extraordinary teachers and the dedication and compassion that they showed in order for this year to go smoothly for everyone. Again, the autonomy that online school provided everyone pushed the limits of the individual problem solving skills without limiting the quality support from the teachers. Thank you to all of my Grade 9 teachers for making this year the best and most productive year of schooling I have ever had amongst the chaos of the world right now, I don't know if I can put into words how amazing it has been, but thank you."
