HUB Virtual School (Grades 3–12)
A full-time online learning experience that combines quality education, flexibility, and connection.
At HUB Virtual School, students in Grades 3–12 receive a full-time, high-quality education delivered by dedicated Alberta-certified teachers.
New for the 2024–2025 school year: we’re excited to offer core high school courses for students in Grades 10–12, along with a selection of engaging elective options.
How It Works
Students are part of a virtual “homeroom” community led by a dedicated teacher—or team of teachers—whose sole focus is supporting their online learners. Each day includes live, scheduled classes where teachers deliver lessons, guide discussions and group work, provide one-on-one support, and help families make at-home learning successful.
While assignments are submitted through Google Classroom, our program emphasizes a balanced learning experience—students are encouraged to move, explore, and participate in hands-on activities. Throughout the school day, teachers remain actively engaged with their students, creating an interactive and supportive learning environment.

High School Courses (Grades 10–12)
Expanding opportunities for Alberta students—online, connected, and future-ready.
Beginning in the 2024–2025 school year, HUB Virtual School is excited to expand its programming to include core academic courses and select option courses for students in Grades 10–12.
Our high school courses are delivered live and in real time by dedicated, Alberta-certified teachers who are committed to student success. Every class meets the Alberta high school graduation requirements, ensuring that students receive the same rigorous, high-quality education as they would in a traditional classroom—just in a flexible online format.
Dual Enrollment Opportunities
Students living in Medicine Hat can take advantage of dual enrollment with either Medicine Hat High School or Crescent Heights High School. This means students can be part of both learning communities—accessing virtual learning through HUB Virtual School while participating in in-person opportunities at their local high school.
Our high school program follows a semester system, allowing students to take up to eight courses per year. Once registration is approved, families will receive a course selection form, and timetables will be shared before the semester begins.
Please note:
While all HUB Virtual School courses are delivered online and are open to students residing anywhere in Alberta, dual enrollment is available only to students who are able to attend in-person classes at a Medicine Hat Public School Division high school.
Commitment to Learning
Families choosing to register for HUB Virtual School are asked to make a full-year commitment. To maintain consistency and quality of instruction, we are unable to accommodate requests to move back and forth between in-person and online learning during the school year..
