Prairie Sky Collegiate | Inside Ag Technician
Every harvest starts long before the crops are ready.
From seeding to harvest, modern agriculture depends on powerful machines working reliably in the field. But those machines don’t maintain themselves.
Prairie Sky Collegiate Level 2 Transportation Trades students stepped into the world of Agricultural Heavy Equipment Technicians at Ag-Plus Mechanical.Working alongside industry professionals, they explored the equipment that helps farmers get the job done. They tested systems, tightened components, calibrated equipment, and learned how to diagnose problems that can bring fieldwork to a stop.
They took an up-close look at swathers and other cutting equipment, gaining a better understanding of how these machines operate, how they’re maintained, and why every detail matters when timing is critical.
The experience offered more than technical skills. It revealed the important role skilled tradespeople play in supporting the farmers who grow our food.Behind every successful harvest is a team of experts keeping the equipment running.
A tractor-sized thank you to Ag-Plus Mechanical for sharing their expertise and helping students discover rewarding careers in the skilled trades
